Punch Recipes For A Baby Shower.

The important part of a successful baby shower is the food that is served.  The punch recipes that are chosen for the baby shower should take into account the likes and dislikes of the mother. Talk to the mother try to find out what she likes.

A lot of pregnant women become sensitive to different foods that could make their stomach upset and certainly you wouldn’t want that to happen during the baby shower celebration.

There are a number of punch recipes for a baby shower that are very easy on the stomach. These include fruity punches, fresh fruit deserts, chocolates, fresh soups, sea food canapes, chicken based salads, and a variety of herb sandwiches and rice casseroles.

The fresh thing that you can serve at a baby shower is salads. You can make simple green salads, chicken salad, tuna salad etc. When you decide on the type of salad dressing to use, you should generally avoid using mayonnaise because it could have uncooked eggs as one of its ingredients.

If you’d like to make chicken salad or a fresh herb seafood salad you will need about a teaspoon each of red wine vinegar, sherry wine vinegar, and extra virgin olive oil for each serving. Just add sea salt and ground pepper to taste.

As far as herbs go, you can use chives, parsley, fresh mint, and tarragon.

Whisk the vinegar, olive oil and herbs together.

Add either cooked crabmeat, grilled fish, or cooked chicken to the salad. Coat the seafood or the chicken with the mixture you just whisked together and you and your guests will enjoy a salad that’s perfect for an afternoon shower.

If you’d like to make some potato salad to accompany the chicken or seafood salad then boil about six pounds of new potatoes until they’re fully cooked. Cut them up and add a couple of cloves, some crushed garlic, a handful of basil leaves, some lemon juice, and sea salt and freshly ground pepper to taste.

Although mayonnaise is usually added as a dressing you can try replacing it with either yogurt or cream. If you decide to use yogurt then do not add any lemon juice to the mixture.

Chill the potato salad and you will have a wonderful vegetarian accompaniment to whatever else you are serving.
